AFLARHONE® WIDE, 25 columns – Purification of toxins

AFLARHONE® WIDE, 25 columns, contains columns with a gel suspension of monoclonal antibody specific for the toxins being analyzed. After extraction of the toxins, the sample extract is filtered, diluted and passed slowly through the immunoaffinity column. Any toxins present in the sample are retained by the antibody in the gel suspension. The column is washed to remove unbound material and the toxins are then released from the column after elution with solvent. The eluate is collected before analysis by HPLC or LC-MS/MS. Aflatoxins must be derivatized when analyzed by HPLC. The total extraction and cleanup time takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. The result is improved purification and concentration of the toxins from food and feed samples, resulting in a much cleaner chromatogram and therefore more accurate and sensitive detection. The columns also have the added benefit of being automated for large-scale sample analysis.
