Lateral Flow Walnut incl. Hook line – Avoid allergic reactions with Lateral Flow Walnut

Lateral Flow Walnut incl. Hook line is a quick test for detecting walnut contamination. The test can be used for various purposes to detect contamination, such as checking incoming raw materials or the efficiency of cleaning production facilities.

According to Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, walnuts and their products must be declared on food. A key challenge in safe and fast lateral flow analysis is false negative results due to very high allergen concentrations in the sample. The hook line on the test strip makes this effect visible. A missing hook line indicates a high allergen content in the sample and can no longer be considered negative.

Bioavid lateral flow sticks are an easy method that enables fast and reliable analysis. The application is very simple and can also be performed by personnel without laboratory training. All test kits can be stored at room temperature and are therefore an ideal tool for direct testing in production facilities or for rapid food testing.

Strongly colored, polyphenol/tannin containing, oily or acidic/alkaline samples should be extracted with Absorbent Buffer (Art. No. BS810-25) to avoid false positive results and minimize matrix effects.

• • Surfaces: wet the swab in the tube with PBS. Swab the surface and clean the swab in the same tube.

• • Product samples: homogenize the sample. Dissolve in distilled water, centrifuge or filter
